Director of the Source Code, Duncan Jones

Well we didn't expect to get this big of an Interview. Not only is Duncan Jones the director of the upcoming movie, Source Code, he's also the son of the great David Bowie. Hear him talk about the movie, if he uses his dad's influence to get stars, and of course we asked him which version of The Office (the American version or the British version) he likes better. Now Fear Brackets: Day 4

Well I think we can determine who will win between Lazy E and Crisco, but for posterity's sake we'll wait until next week.

Who will win? Who will have to endure the punishment? One thing we do know is that we both suck at guessing.

Is the Cobra Poised to Strike?

After all the talk and wondering and waiting and guessing, it looks like Limp Bizkit's new album Gold Cobra is FINALLY going to be released.

I've been keeping after this as much as my sanity and short attention span will allow, and it looks like it has paid off at last. I wasn't so sure after last year when the album was supposedly mixed and ready for release, only to never see the light of day. Then there was a long period of silence. Finally, in early February of this year, frontman Fred Durst finally reported that the album was being mixed (again?) and would be mastered shortly thereafter.

From what I've gleaned, the album was RE-mixed so as to improve the quality of the songs, which up until this point were merely polished demos. But now, according to Durst, the album is ready.

On Thursday, March 17, Durst posted to his Twitter that he was headed to a meeting with the wigs at Interscope. Then, later that night, he tweeted this:

Looks like a fresh summer with new LB album dropping June 7 (MAYBE), BUT will get confirmation this Tuesday from Interscope.

So it looks like we may be getting some new Limp Bizkit in the near future.

Even more curious, though, was the tweet Fred had made some days earlier. During this entire process, Fred has been posting the names of the songs for the new album as they were being mixed, with the total coming out to nearly twenty songs. He had this to say:

Obviously we have two albums here, in case you didn't pick up on that. First one is Gold Cobra. Due soon.

So now, not only are we getting a release date for Gold Cobra, but we are teased with the promise of a SECOND new album to follow! If you are a Limp Bizkit fan, that is news to get excited for! Gold Cobra and the as-yet-unnamed second new album are the first to be released by the band since 2005, and the first to feature the entire original band lineup since 2000.

Now Fear Brackets

Lazy E and I have both filled out our brackets for the 97.9X $10,000 Bracket Challenge, and we both feel that we are poised to win like Charlie Sheen.

Since we work in the same cubicle, and since we both host Now Fear This, and keeping with the spirit of competition, we decided to go head to head with our brackets in a challenge of our own that will determine once and for all who is the best at making wild guesses.

On top of that, we will be competing agaisnt the other 97.9X DJs (who also filled out brackets). Lastly, we will also be competing agaisnt you as long as you signed up for the Bracket Challenge at 979x.com.

Bear in mind that I know absolutely nothing about basketball. I don't follow it, I don't play it, I don't like it. I'm only doing this to beat Lazy E. Oh yeah...and win $10,000.

So there you have it. Stay tuned to find out which one of us is better than the other. Remember, last time I went against Lazy E I ended up having to do a shot of hot sauce...I dread knowing what I'll have to do if I lose this time...

It's on!

Now Fear This Drug: The Commercial

Thank the New York Dolls for the Crue touring with Poison

Well still can't officially say that 'Crue and Poison are coming to the Montage Mountain (See post below), but it almost didn't happen at all.

Apparently the guys in Motley Crue felt there was a fine line between their style of rock and Poison's, so they promised to never tour with them. Buuuuut once the New York Dolls signed on they said, "Heck, why not?"

So our question to you is, was it the New York Dolls or the $$$

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Are we allowed to say this?

Well did we get permission to announce this? No. Are we obligated to give you the latest in new rock news? Yes. So according to pollstar.com, we'll be seeing Motley Crue and Poison at the Montage Mountain July 31st.

If we get fired, please buy us tickets...
